No. 6--Butterfly Weed

No. 6--Butterfly Weed.  Watercolor. Approximately 13 inches square.

I was thinking that pretty soon, you're going to think that all I'm painting is bouquets.  (This would be No. 6 on my 100 Bouquet Project.)  That's just not true.  It is about all I've been blogging about.  I've said it before and I'll say it again--the place to see everything right now is Instagram.  Come follow me there.  (Pushy, yes?)

About the flowers--they are a wee bit invasive.  They're also not quite right for the monarchs.  I just pulled a ton from my garden, and have winnowed the patch down quite a bit.  I love the intense orange.

Paint--perinone orange, prussian blue, and indian yellow.  Paper--300 lb fabriano rough.
